Original
Paintings are for sale.
The Four Seasons paintings were originally created
for a printing company that specialized in producing
personal checks with pictorial images screened
as background. The prints were sold through
banking institutions.
After the paintings were completed and the color
separations readied, suddenly everything changed.
The company
was purchased by larger printing conglomerate
and the
Four Season Check Project died with the merger.
The four paintings were returned.
With the initial printing preparations already
complete the decision was made to publish them
for collectors - four separate limited editions
of 1000 prints each.
COVERED
BRIDGE IN SPRING
Loosely based on the nostalgic covered bridges of Parke County,
IN. (Trivia note: With 35 covered bridges, Parke County contains
more covered bridges than any
other similar-sized location in the world)
FARMSTEAD
IN SUMMER
Based on a cluster of barns near Georgetown,
in Southern Indiana.
RURAL
CHURCH IN AUTUMN
Inspired by a church in central Indiana that did not
have a spire. It's so nice, being an artist,
"draw a tree here, paint a spire there".
GRIST
MILL IN WINTER
Based on a replicated mill located at Squire Boone
Caverns in Harrison County, Indiana.
