Ah! Coca-Cola and fresh watermelons on a hot July afternoon!

SUMMER COOLERS brings to life these cool summer delights and preserves for us the memory of those special trips along our nation's two-lane highways.

I found this old general store in the little town of Huron, in southern Indiana, but the scene is typical of many areas of the country. The American landscape is varied and ever-changing but through the artist's eye, the clock stops and the mind is etches with images of the past.

The welcome shade, the cola sign, and the inviting watermelons --- Ahhhhh!
